The Diary of a Sugarbaby is a #2 Bestseller in Dystopian Fiction!

The Diary of a Sugarbaby by J.Q. Gagliastro has become a #2 Bestseller in Dystopian Fiction on Ingram’s Bestsellers List! 😱 Thank you so much to all the bookstores and bookstore-goers who helped make this happen! You guys rock!

What this means is people who go into bookstores have picked up my book, read the back, and are intrigued enough to buy it. The majority of people who buy through my website and/or Amazon are usually people who either know me or have come across my socials. I just know if I had a bigger platform, my book would be even bigger.

I don’t mean to self-deprecate, take away from this great news, or diminish bookstores whatsoever, but I do want to be real with y’all and give you the facts. Though 950 units (copies) were ordered, that doesn’t mean I made $16.99 on every book. In fact, I only make $1.90 per book. Ingram takes the biggest cut, then bookstores, then me, the artist.

And even though 950 units were ordered, that doesn’t mean 950 copies were sold. Bookstores sold only 250 copies. The other 700 are unsold and still in bookstores (SO GO GET THEM AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BOOKSTORE! They deserve love too! For indie bookstores carrying TDS, go here.)

The best way to support ME (so I can have more than just crumbs) is to BUY A SIGNED COPY PACKAGE!!! My site is where I get my bread and butter (specifically the Sex Positive, Emo, and Nerd packages). I earn the most from those, then Amazon, then my Basic Bitch package. Then, bookstores. That’s how it goes. Again, it’s not the bookstores’ fault. It’s the distributor’s (and inflation).

Thank you very much again for making The Diary of a Sugarbaby #2 in dystopian fiction!
